In Memory Of Mugsy...
I was 18 and living in South Beach, Miami when my roommate’s dogs had rottweiler puppies. I was terrified of this breed, as I was bitten by one when I was about 10 years old. I wouldn’t even walk into the house until the dogs were put in their crates. Once FEFE started whelping I got close for the first time. She was so loving and needy that I fell in love with her. She let me pick up all the puppies and by the time the pups were 3 weeks old I had picked out the pup I loved the most, MUGSY. He had no papers and was too big for the standard by the time he was 7 months old.
Mugsy just kept growing and growing!! This was strange because his mom was a small bitch and dad, Goliath, was a German import that was on the smaller end of the standard. Mugsy was huge! He was 32 inches at the withers and 150 lbs by the time he was done growing! It was Mugsy that changed my life forever. I love this breed now!!
He was such a mama’s boy! He went everywhere with me and people would act just like I use to act. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to please me and his 10 years with me there was nothing I wouldn’t do for him. He was my best friend and I miss him more then words can say.
I got Mary, my first bitch, about a year before he died and they too loved each other. Since then I have dedicated my life to bettering my breed and helping people understand that rottweilers are not vicious dogs as I once thought. All of this is because of my dearest friend, Mugsy. I hope you enjoy his pictures as much as I do.
